This field essentially deals with human bones - their examination and identification.  Forensic anthropology comes into play primarily with buried remains or any scene where the victim(s) body is simply skeletal in nature.  Human skeletal remains can be used to identify species, gender, age range, race, and potential fatal injuries.  This field also deals with facial reconstructions to aid in identifying unknown victims.
